Rose-Bayer Williams, born in 1924, daughter of Hedwig and Julius, died on June 15, 1924 at 12 years old.
Rose Bayer Williams was born June 15, 1924 in Neustadt, Germany. Her parents, Hedwig and Julius Bayer owned a vinyard in Musbach where Rose grew up. Her father, Julius, was very outspoken against the war and was killed by Nazi soldiers when she was just 12 years of age. Rose spent her teenage years in a war time Germany but still enjoyed swimming, bicycling and gymnastics whenever she could. Rose imigrated to the United States after the war where she met Coran L. Williams, an American soldier. They later married on June 15, 1960 in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Rose and Coran made a home in Washington D.C. where she was employed by the U.S. government in several capacities but especially enjoyed her work with The Department of Agriculture. Rose and Coran later retired in Daytona Beach, Florida where Rose enjoyed gardening, cooking and going to the beach with her son, John and husband, Coran. She later enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Miranda and Jonathan. Rose loved the United States and was very proud to receive U.S. citizenship on March 24, 1972. Rose was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by a son, John R. Williams; and two grandchildren, Miranda E. Williams and Jonathan L. Williams. Memorial Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Westminister By The Sea Presbyterian Church, Daytona Beach Shores.Rose wished that any donations be made to Westminster By The Sea Presbyterian Church or Hospice.
