ObituaryRoger R. Savoie, 62, died on October 13, 2009, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Anne Savoie (Bressette) and the son of the late Roger J. Savoie and Theresa Savoie (Lemieux) of Orange, Ca. Roger is survived by three brothers and two sisters. Mr. Savoie served in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam and was honorable discharged in 1972. He was a lifelong resident of New Bedford, Ma. until his move to Florida in 2004. He received a Bachelor Degree from South-Eastern Mass. University and was employed by the City of New Bedford as a Fire Captain until his retirement. Mr. Savoie was a communicant of St. Andrew's Church in Cape Coral where he was a Eucharistic Minister and a server at morning Mass. Survivors include his widow, Anne, a son Andrew Savoie and a daughter Regina Savoie. Mr. Savoie will be buried at Otis Air Force Base in Bourne, Mass. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Andrew's Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd. in Cape Coral on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 10AM. Donations may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation at 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL 33612 and indicate in memory of Roger R. Savoie for pancreatic cancer research.
