Myers, Fl, on Sunday, January 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.He was born October 8, 1940 in Bartow, Florida to the late Lonnie W. and Lillian Mc Duffie Bryant.Bob was a 1958 graduate of Bartow Summerlin Institute. He began employment with the Florida Department of Transportation as a draftsman, later entering the engineering training program. Upon completion of the program he transferred to the maintenance department in Ft. Myers, Fl. In 2003, after 45 years of service he retired as Assistant Maintenance Engineer. He was an avid sports fan and was a member of Gulf Coast Church of Christ where he taught Sunday School for many years.Preceded in death by his parents and niece; Susan Bryant Hopkins.Survived by his wife of 49 years, Jane Sanford Bryant, two sons; Shannon and wife Lisa of Cape Coral, Fl., Todd and wife Joanne of Powder Springs, Ga. One daughter Dawn and husband Albert Reilingh of Mableton, Ga. Five grandchildren; Kendall, Cordelia, Jahnelle, and Joshua Bryant and Albert Reilingh. One brother; William G. "Bill" Bryant, of Bartow, Fl, one sister; Sybil Bryant Ward and husband Bill also of Bartow, Fl. He will be greatly missed by all his family as well as his beloved pets; Patches and Molly.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan. 11th, from 4 - 7 pm at the Harvey-Engelhardt Funeral Home, 1600 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers. Funeral will be Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home with viewing for 1 hour prior. Graveside service will be at the Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow, FL on Friday at 11 am.
