ROBERT EMERSON LEE, B.A., M.A., B.Ed,. Dip. C.S. February 23, 1929 - May 31, 2012 Passed away after a lengthy illness at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre with Joyce, his loving and devoted wife of nearly fifty years at his side. He will be dearly missed by his sister-in-law Grace MCElhinney and her husband Andrew and the entire MCElhinney clan as well as his brother Patrick and nephew Terry. A graduate of the University of Toronto (Victoria College) Robert was a scholar of Oriental languages, later becoming a teacher and specialist in special education with a diploma from the Institute of Child Study. Robert and Joyce travelled extensively, exploring much of Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Europe, capturing many of their memories of historical sites and architecture on film. More recently they enjoyed the pleasures of small town Ontario. His interests expanded into military history and the making of accurate model airplanes. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Epstein, the caring staff at Sunnybrook, his home-care nurses and oxygen suppliers who made his final days more comfortable. A celebration of Robert's life will be held Thursday, June 7th at 3 p.m. with visiting two hours prior to service at the MURRAY E. NEWBIGGING FUNERAL HOME, 733 Mt. Pleasant Road. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Lung Association would be appreciated.
