ROBERT DAVIDOWENS, 68Polk Co. School Board LAKELAND - Robert David Owens, 68, of Lakeland, Florida passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Palm Terrace of Lakeland due to cancer. Robert was born July 30, 1944, in Chattahoochee, Florida to William and Dixie Owens. He retired from the Polk County School Board as a bus driver for 18 years. Survivors include wife, Carol Owens; sons, David Owens and wife Shari and William Owens and wife Kierstin; three grandchildren, Eric, Kait-lin and Dakota. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012, at 5 p.m., with a gathering of family and friends to follow until 8 p.m., at Lakeland Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.
