He was born on September 12, 1928 to Comer and Della Whitaker in Murfreesboro, TN.He is survived by his sons, Kevin Whitaker of Indian Harbour Beach, Michael Whitaker of Ocala, FL and Robert Whitaker of Louisville, KY; as well as eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his son, David Whitaker, also of Melbourne.The family offers appreciation and gratitude to the caring staff at Florida Shores of Melbourne Assisted Living and Hospice of Health First for providing him with a peaceful, joyous quality of life for his last months.Services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Beach Funeral Home, Indian Harbour Beach, FL.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Nature Conservancy, 4245 N.
