Robert A. Horton, born in Zebulon, North Carolina on December 3rd, 1925, passed away Monday, April 26, 2010. He served in World War II as a Sergeant in the United States Army. He guarded the Emperor's Palace and saw the peace treaty being signed. Robert played lead guitar with the Joint Aire Gospel Singers for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Edith; one son, Mark Horton and wife Donna; one daughter Mignon Meade and husband Ray; three step sisters, Patty Ellis and husband Clarence and their son, Brenda Booth and husband Richard and their two sons Richard and Chad Booth, Evelyn Chambers and husband Danny; step-brothers, Charlie Lee Krystynak and Charles A. Krystynak; one stepson, Anthony Hall and wife Beth; one stepdaughter, Bridgett Avery and husband Donald; ten grandchildren, Brittney, Briana, Brindisi, Becky, Ray Alien, Rayan, and Brian, Kyle, Ashley, and Mark Jr. Memorial Servcie will be Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Church of Christ on Spring Garden Rd, DeLand, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of Christ where Robert attended.
