Reverend-Elizabeth-Jemison Jackson, born in 1920, daughter of Jesse and Lillian, died on September 11, 2014 at 94 years old.
JACKSON, REVEREND DR. ELIZABETH JEMISON - 94, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Betty (Dr. Harold) Middlebrook. She entered into time on August 11, 1920, born to Jesse Rush and Lillian Jemison in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was the third of eight children. She developed a relationship with Christ at an early age and later accepted the call of God upon her life and entered the ministry in the Church of God-Reformation. She became pastor of the Parkview (formerly 17th Street) Church of God on the 4th Sunday in January, 1953 and retired on the 4th Sunday in January, 2003, after pastoring the same church for fifty (50) years. Knoxville relatives include; daughter, Betty Middlebrook; son-in-law, Dr. Harold Middlebrook; grandchildren, Arlene Bennett, Harold Middlebrook, II, and Attorney Lakenya Middlebrook; great grandchildren, Danielle Bennett and Harold Middlebrook, III; great great grandchildren, Darrion and Kaysia McClanahan. Gratitude is expressed to Dr. Kenneth Reece, Wanda McCleary, Statia A-Kubi, the staff of Amedisys and the Canaan Baptist Church of Christ family.
