ObituaryR. Joan (Falk) Brown, 80 years old of Ft. Myers, Florida formerly of Stromsburg Nebraska died Sunday, November 7, 2004 at the Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford Florida. Mrs. Brown was born May 16, 1924 in Polk to John A. and Anna May (Bramer) Falk. She attended Stromsburg schools graduating from Stromsburg High School in 1944. She graduated from Emmanuel School of Nursing in Omaha in 1947. She married Col Jack M. Brown on February 28, 1947 at Kansas City, Kansas. While her husband served in the military they lived in Europe, Central America and the USA. She worked as a nurse and for the Red Cross. In 1970 he retired and they moved to Hampton, Virginia. In 1984 her husband passed away. She then moved to Fort Myers, Florida to be near her children. She resided there for 24 years and worked as a Registered Nurse at Southwest Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Fort Myers, Florida. She enjoyed her family, painting, and playing bridge. She did volunteer work at Lee Memorial Hospital and was an accomplished violinist. Survivors include Ray M. Brown of Rockledge, Fl and, Sheila J (George) Palmer of Heathrow, Fl, 5 Grandchildren and three sisters, Dorothy Larson of Stromsburg Delores M. Kessinger of Wichita, DS and Darlene (Elden) Lovlett Eudora, KS.
