Phyllis Henry, born in 1908, daughter of Kenneth-Alexander and Helen-Mary, died on October 28, 2007 at 99 years old.
HENRY-Phyllis Isabel Henry passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007 at the age of 99 years. Phyllis was born Sept. 14, 1908 to Kenneth Alexander Price and Helen Mary Price, nee George. She was educated in Moosomin and at Teachers College in Regina. She taught for 32 years, including a period in which she taught at Cannington Manor. Her interests included tennis, antiques, singing in the church choir and helping with the church guild. She is well known in the Moosomin area for her work in drama. She started the Mooseberry Acting Company in the early 1980s and directed a large number of plays in Moosomin and surrounding communities over the years. She was proud of her fundraising work for the Canadian Cancer Society and for the Leprosy Mission, for which she collected stamps for years. Phyllis married Leslie Thompson Henry in 1941 at St. Alban's Church in Moosomin. Les passed away Jan. 28, 1997. Phyl is survived by sister-in-law Irene Price and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held from St. Alban's Anglican Church, Moosomin at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 2. Friends so wishing may make donations in memory of Phyllis to St. Alban's Memorial Fund. Arrangements are entrusted to G.R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel, Moosomin.
