Phyllis A. Fish Peters, 79, of Columbus and formerly of Seymour, passed away at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Peters retired from Peters Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning in Columbus, where she was the secretary/treasurer. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Clifty, and she enjoyed traveling. Born in Seymour, on May 23, 1929, she was the daughter of Emitt Cecil and Dillie Gladys George Fish, both of whom preceded her in death. She married H. E. "Pete" Peters, in Seymour on June 28, 1947, and he preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1995. Survivors include three sons, Mitchell "Mic" (Martha) Peters and Dennis Peters, both of Columbus, and David Peters, Bettendorf, Iowa; a sister, Norma Funke, Indianapolis; a brother, Marvin "Bill" Fish, Columbus; a grandson, Aaron (Heather) Peters, Columbus; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriela and Elijah Peters, both of Columbus. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason A. Peters; three brothers, Theodore, James C. and Emitt Lynn Fish; and a sister, Mary Horning. Pastor Doug Bauman will conduct funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Peters at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clifty. Entombment will be in Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Myers-Reed Chapel, 3729 25th St., Columbus, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
