SMITH, Phillip Ray, 70, of Sebring, Fla., died Wednesday, December 23, 2009, in Sebring. He was born September 22, 1939, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Vernon Williams and Nancy Marie (Shollenbarger) Smith. Mr. Smith was a computer systems and project manager in the computer industry and was of the Methodist faith. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving as a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, and had been a resident of Sebring since 2003, formerly of Taylor Ridge, Ill. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Smith; sons, Scott and Brett Smith; daughter, Lori Crawford; and 10 grand-children. Graveside services, with full military honors, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
