NORTHWOOD- Phillip "Ted" Jackson, 70, died Sept. 26, 2011, at home with his "girls." Ted was born Jan. 1, 1941. to John and Elta Jackson of Epping. Ted attended Epping schools until he left to begin a long and hardworking career in the trades. Ted was a carpenter, truck driver and cabinet maker over the years. Ted was truly a "jack of all trades - he could fix anything. Ted was a member of The American Legion Post 51 in Epping, formerly holding the post of junior vice president. He also served on the House committee for several years. Ted served in the U.S. Army as a member of the military police. Ted enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, time spent at camp with his friends in Vermont, golfing, woodworking and family. In his retirement years, he spent time working on his and Karen's home and his children's homes. Ted is survived by his significant other, Karen Sullivan of Northwood; three daughters, Inga Sullivan of Norridgewock, Maine, Bridget Jackson of Nottingham, Tracie Rollins of Northwood, and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter Mercedes "Sadie" Rollins of Northwood; three sisters, Ruth Coffin of Clermont, Fla., Doris Underwood and husband Paul of Exeter and Carol Currier of Deerfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Elta Jackson, two brothers, John M. Jackson and Kenneth Jackson, and a sister Bernice Almon. The family would like to thank Hospice Community of Concord VNA for their support and guidance through the journey of caring for Ted at home in his final days. . SERVICES: Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 30, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping.
