->BANGOR - Phillip David Carter (32) died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in Dedham, Maine. Phillip was born in Norwich, CT to Phillip David Blanchette of Lisbon, CT and Molly Bee (Carter) Grant of Sullivan, ME. He was a bouncer at Paddy Murphy's in Bangor, ME and he worked with his close friend, Roxanne Papken. Phillip was an intimidating bouncer, but he was really just a gentle giant. He loved to spend time with his daughter, Isabelle. Phillip's hobbies included fishing for striped bass and trout, sculpting, drawing, painting, and wire art. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. Phillip enjoyed science and being outdoors. He was well loved in society and often read at Paddy Murphy's. It seemed as if he had a fountain of useless knowledge. He was the king of constructive criticism. He could tear you down, yet bring you up twice as high with his words.He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Molly Bee and Kenneth Grant of Sullivan, ME; 1 daughter- Isabelle Bee Carter of Brewer, ME; his grandmother- Mary Ellen Carter of Sullivan, ME; 3 brothers- L.J. Power and Ian Grant of Sullivan, ME and Jondalan Grant of Ellsworth, ME; 2 sisters- Nichole Blanchette of Sullivan, ME and Tiffany Bohacik of Gouldsboro, ME; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; 3 nephews- Gabriel, Deacon, and Ryne; 3 nieces- Zoe Bee, Wynter, and Destiny, mother of his daughter- Angela Bull of Brewer, ME; girlfriend- Kate Small of Bangor, ME and by his close friends at Paddy Murphy's also known as his "downtown family".Phillip was predeceased by his grandfather, Milton Carter, Sr.A celebration of life at Fraiser's Point in Winter Harbor, ME is scheduled for Friday, August 22, 2014 at 5pm. Arrangements were made by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home in Ellsworth, ME.Contributions may be made in memory of Phillip's life to: Maine Autism Alliance 65 Patterson Street Augusta, ME 04330 or to a charity that promotes autism awareness.
