PETER MICHAEL HAMANG II, RN SCHERERVILLE, IN Peter Michael Hamang II, RN, 25, of Schererville, formerly of Highland, IN and Owensboro, KY passed away on January 1, 2011 at his Schererville home. Peter was born on November 6, 1985 in Merrillville, IN. He was a 2004 Highland High School graduate where he served as Class Treasurer and lettered in football and wrestling. Peter then continued his education at Indiana University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Science with the class of 2008. Peter had just completed the Accelerated Nursing Program at Valparaiso University in August 2010, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He received his National RN License in November of 2010. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Michael F. Hamang; and maternal grandparents: Pauline and Alan Worthington. Peter Michael is survived by his parents: Dr. Peter Hamang of Calumet Township and Cynthia Hamang of Owensboro, KY; his beloved brother, Matthew Hamang of Pendleton; and sister, Elisabeth McDaniel of Owensboro, KY. Peter is also survived by his grandmother, Josephine Hamang of Merrillville; and his aunt, Michele; and uncle, Steve Shalla of Schererville. He is also survived by his aunts: Julie (John) Hamann of Hebron, Bridget (Kevin) Gates of Chesterton, and Michaelene Hamang of Merrillville; and uncles: Michael (Eva) Hamang of Pendleton and Dr. Joseph Hamang of Merrillville. Peter deeply loved and cared for his six cousins; his nephew, Aiden; and the many friends he had met in his 25 years of life. Peter had an amazing zest for life, and enjoyed traveling, camping, reading and music. He will be sadly missed by the many friends and family he leaves behind.
