Peter "Frank" Kelly of Whitman passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, with his wife Anne and family by his side. Born Dec. 6, 1931, and raised in Boston, Frank attended Boston Technical High School and graduated in 1949. Frank worked over 25 years for Barnstead Co. and then worked for Flyes Furniture following his retirement. Frank was a longtime and devoted member of the Knights of Columbus 347 in Whitman, where he took an active role including treasurer of the KFC Golf League and volunteering for many charitable events. In his spare time, he loved cards, golf and following his favorite Boston Sports team. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who were frequent visitors. Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years to Anne M. (Kirwan) Kelly; son, Michael and his wife Kathy of East Sandwich; daughter, Patricia and her husband Kevin Zygadlo of Hanover; and son, Robert and his wife Judy of Hanson; and his cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Beth, Sarah, Allison, Rob, Peter, and Anna. "Grampy" was well loved and will be sorely missed. Visiting hours will be in the MacKinnon Funeral Home, 760 Washington St. (off Rte. 18), Whitman, Friday 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Ghost Church, Whitman, Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Whitman. The family would like donations made in Frank's memory to St. Vincent DePaul Society, c/o Holy Ghost Church, 518 Washington St., Whitman, MA 02382.
