Obituary of Peter-Joseph Kelly

KELLY, Peter Joseph - At the age of 72, passed away peacefully at home on Octo ber 31, 2005, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love his family and close friends. He leaves behind, his wife JoAnne, the love of his life. Beloved father of Michael and his wife Angela and their children, Mariah and Joseph, cherished grandchildren who brought true joy to his life. Survived by his sister Marnie and husband George O'Kell of Niagara Falls, sister Eileen Aubin of Winnipeg and brother Gerry and wife Janet of Adelaide, Australia. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Angela Kelly, his brother Leo and sister JoAnne and husband Jake Kitney. Peter will be greatly missed by 12 nieces and nephews and 16 great-nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his many special friends here and in Ireland. Peter enjoyed their companionship and love throughout his life. Peter was a lover of baseball and hock ey, and a member of the Niagara Falls Me morial Band. A war veteran, he served dur ing the Korean War as a Naval Seaman aboard “HMCS HAIDA“. Peter's career in law enforcement spanned almost 4 dec ades. His integrity and leadership was su perceded only by his caring nature for the citizens whom he served. His Brotherhood was directed by his guiding words “Trust in God and Do the Right“ - words Peter worked and lived by. “May your joys be deep and many May your heart be light and glad May you keep the best memories of me that you had“ Friends may call at the NIAGARA FUNERAL HOME, 5647 Main St., Niagara Falls on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Vigil for Mr. Kelly will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 4th at St. Patrick's Church, 4673 Victoria Ave., Ni agara Falls.
