Peter F. Smith 1949 - 2013 INDIAN ORCHARD - Peter Frank Smith, 63, passed away February 4, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield to the late Bernard and Cecilia (Perreault) Smith, he was a lifelong area resident. Peter was the owner of Peter Smith Asphalt Paving for 30 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to the casino, vacationing at Hampton Beach and "sailing with the captain". Always the life of the party, Peter loved making people smile and laugh. He will be remembered as a loving and generous man who was happiest when he was spending time with his family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Bernard Smith and a sister, Margaret Yergeau. He leaves his wife of 6 years, Diane (Dufresne) Smith; his sons, Brandon Smith and his wife Soleil of Ludlow and Dustin Smith and his husband Chris of Los Angeles, CA; his step-son, Jesse McCollum of New York, NY; a brother, Paul Smith (Carol) of Chicopee; four sisters, Mary Gosselin of Springfield, Josephine Elias (Bertil) of OR, Helen Hyte of Springfield and Joan Gales (Dick) of TX; a granddaughter, Ella Smith; several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
