Peter C. Woodruff June 1, 1955 - April 21, 2010 Lake City, FL - Peter C. Woodruff, 54, of Lake City, Florida, died peacefully at home on April 21, 2010 following a long illness. Born in Hartford, CT on June 1, 1955, the son of the late Isobel Woodruff of West Hartford, CT and Stuart Woodruff of Granby, CT, he lived in Danielson, CT for a number of years prior to moving to Florida in 2004. He was a 1973 graduate of Woodstock Academy. Pete will be remembered for his gentleness, love of his family, the outdoors, reading, and his pets. In addition to his father he leaves his brothers, James of Worcester, MA, David and his wife Anne, of Cupar, Scotland, and Stephen and his wife Denise, of West Simsbury, CT. He was predeceased by his brother, Douglas in 1999. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Gretchen Woodruff, of Medfield, MA and his nieces and nephews, Brad and Allie Woodruff of West Simsbury, CT and Ben and Meggie Woodruff of Medfield, MA. He also leaves his loving companion of twenty-two years, Brenda Kingsbury, and her daughters Amy and Jessica. Interment will take place at a date to be determined. He will be buried in the family plot in the Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, New York. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peter's memory may be made to: The Douglas Gray Woodruff Fund For Gastro-intestinal Cancer Research, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445; or to the National Pancreas Foundation, 101 Federal Street, Suite 1900, Boston, MA. 02110.
