ObituaryPeggy Sue Carter, a lifelong resident of SW Florida, passed away July 2, 2008. She was born October 24, 1919 in Ocala, FL, to Augusta and Gussie Cook Gallant.She loved celebrations of any kind and fishing. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Edison Festival of Light and for the Lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.She is survived by her sister, Virginia Gallant Ritchie; daughters, Diane Maddox (Gene), Cindy Leach (Michael); grandchildren, Chip Maddox (Jenny), Celia Erickson (Kenny), David Hammel (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Shane and Melissa Maddox and Emma and Clayton Erickson. She was preceded in death by son, David Lee Hammel Sr. and grandson, Dylan Leach.Visitation will be on Saturday from 3-4 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 4:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.Funeral arrangements under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.239-936-0555www.fortmyersmemorial.com
