<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Peggy Jean Bowers JohnsonNashville, TNPeggy Jean Bowers Johnson, age 79 of Nashville, was born Sunday, November 11, 1934 and passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 after a brief illness. Mrs. Johnson was an active member for over fifty years of Woodmont Christian Church, a place dear to her heart. She graduated in 1953 from Goodlettsville High School and went on to receive her registered nursing degree from Mid-State Baptist School of Nursing in 1956. In her early years of nursing at Baptist Hospital, one of her patients, John T. "Killer" Johnson, would later become her husband of 42 years. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Bailey Bowers & Lillian Goodwin Bowers; sister, June Bowers Petry; and brother, Joseph Bowers. Mrs. Johnson is survived by two sons, John T. (Kerrie) Johnson, Jr. and Scott B. (Darla) Johnson; Grandchildren, Lara Lillian, Tate, Davis, Britt and Gentry Johnson, Mike Solomon and Julie Schaech; nieces, Linda Stubblefield and Donna Jenkins; and many other nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held at Woodmont Christian Church on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. with funeral service at 3 p.m. with Reverend Clay Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow in Triune, TN.Honorary Pallbearers: Wade, Mark and Matthew Stubblefield, Steve Johnson, Johnny Taylor and Davis, Britt and Gentry Johnson.
