Peggy Henderson, born in 1933, spouse of Sandy Henderson, died on April 4, 2009. Please consult the obituary here:
Peggy (Margaret) Henderson Nov. 14, 1933 - April 4, 2009 Peggy's warm smile, compassion, wisdom and adventurous spirit will be missed by all who knew her. The ski runs and golf course at Mt. St. Marie and the curling sheets at the Navy Club will all seem a little emptier now. Someone else will have to lead the sing songs at social gatherings, and the gardens at the Lac Pemichangan cottage won't be quite as beautiful and prolific. The Hospice at May Court has lost a valuable volunteer - one whose soul was nourished through helping those whose lives were ending. And we will all have to look a little further for our inspiration to stay young at heart, make the best of what we have, and do so with grace, style and pizzazz. Peggy passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind Bill, her husband of 50 years, their three children Sandy, Tracey and Bill and their partners Hal and Maureen, beloved granddaughters Ciana and Kailyn and Peggy's three sisters: Denyse, Gwen, and Lynne (the 'Muir Girls' from High Bluff Manitoba). The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, April 8th at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St., from 3 - 5 pm and 7 - 9 pm. Please join the family for a Celebration of Peggy's Life on Thursday April 9th at the Britannia Yacht Club, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. with memorial tributes beginning at 5:30. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peggy can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Hospice at May Court. A special thank you to Dr. Lisa Cross and Carefor nurses Derrick Jackson and Vicky Djigovetchka for their incredible support, caring and compassion.
