<!-- FH = Harwood Home for Funerals -->Pearl Louise Smith"Granny" and "GiGi"Swannanoa - Pearl Smith, 90, of 1984 US 70 Hwy., passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011.Mrs. Smith was born in Jackson County and had lived in Buncombe County most of her life.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and loved her family. She had a great sense of humor. She was a member of Enka Baptist Church.Pearl is preceded in death by her parents, Thaddeus and Effie Ashe Pressley; husband, Carmie E. Smith; daughter, "Lou" Breedlove; two sisters, Alice and Anna Leigh Taylor; brothers, TA and Odell Pressley and Alden Baird.Surviving are a son, Jim Smith of Port Orange, Fla.; daughter, Diane Bell and husband, Jim of Swannanoa; grandchildren, Mike and Matt Breedlove, Carmen Robinson, Jamie Bell and Teri Hall, Todd, Chad and Meaghan Smith; great-grandchildren, Ashley Breedlove, Autumn Robinson and Bryson Hall; great-great grandchild, Olivia Carver. She had six nieces and nine nephews.A Celebration of life service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with the Rev. Ron Brown and James Lamb officiating.
