Pearl J. Lee January 25, 1921 -March 10, 2008 TAFTVILLE - Pearl J. Lee, 87, died peacefully at the William W. Backus Hospital surrounded by her family on Monday. She was born on January 25, 1921 in Norwich to the late Henry and Anna (Pearson) Wise. After graduating from NFA in 1938 she married her beloved William G. Lee at Salem Lutheran Church in Norwich in 1941. He predeceased her on June 19, 2007. Pearl worked for American Thermos Bottling Company and Norton Peck Library retiring in 1985 after a 20 year career there. She belonged to St. Luke Lutheran Church in Gales Ferry and previously was active in the St. Mark Lutheran Church Duet Club, Salem Lutheran Church Dorcus Society and Missionary Circle, and with the Greenville and Preston P.T.A. With all her activities and career she always made sure to be a nurturing and loving mom and wife first. She is survived by her son; Donald Lee and his wife Priscilla of Preston, two daughters; Barbara Gladue and her husband Michael of Preston, and Laurel Manske and her husband James of Taftville, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one brother; Curtis P. Wise, one sister; Thelma Evelyn Wise Dupont, and one grandson, Roland David Paradis. Calling hours are Friday from 6pm to 8pm at the Woyasz and Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Av., Norwich, CT. Funeral Services will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church, RT12 Gales Ferry at 10am on Saturday with burial immediately following at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich.
