NORTHPORT Pauline S. Moore, age 94, of Northport, died May 23, 2013, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Memory Hill Gardens with Bro. Frank Smelley officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James G. Moore Sr.; her daughter, Linda Estes; her parents, William Berry and Nannie Simpson; and several brothers and a sister.Survivors include her daughter, Paula Nan Gibbs (Bill) of Birmingham; her son, James G. “John” Moore Jr. (Polly) of Coker; her sister, Lessie Wright (J.E.) of Warner Robins, Ga.; her grandchildren, David Parham (Teresa), Teresa Parham (Art), Dileana Owenby (Steve), and Stephanie Johnston (Joe); five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.She was born August 14, 1918, in Northport to William Berry and Nannie Simpson. She was married to the late James G. Moore Sr., who passed away Feb. 18, 2013. They spent 67 years together raising children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She worked in the home all of her life and enjoyed every minute of it. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, flowers, teaching Sunday School, and spending time with her family. Her kitchen was always open, and countless meals were prepared for anyone who dropped by. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a beautiful example of God's unconditional love and will be missed.Pallbearers were David Parham, Art Elliott, James Jeffries, David Ramsey, Eric Sularin, and Keith Waid.Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Debra Davis, all nurses and staff of ACCU and 4th and 5th floors at DCH, and especially the nurses and staff involved with her care at Hospice of West Alabama.
