Pauline May Swart 1915 - 2008 GROVESIDE, N.Y Pauline May Swart, 93, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at her residence on Groveside Road. She had resided there with her niece and her husband, Susan and Raymond Morin. Born in Groveside on Oct. 26, 1915, daughter of Elmer Ellsworth and Sadie Helen Lebarron Brownell, she attended grade school in Groveside. In her earlier married years, she lived in Burnt Hills. While there, she was involved in Missions with White Cross workers in the Baptist and Methodist churches. Mrs. Swart was a dedicated homemaker. Pauline lived the simple life in obedience to Biblical principles and was instrumental in keeping family and neighbor ties current and strong. She held a deep love for her sisters and brothers and their children. After moving to West Hoosick, she attended the West Hoosick Baptist Church and belonged to the Gleaners. This community became a vital part of her social life. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. She spent many hours crocheting doilies, pillow case lace, and tatting bookmarks. With the help of her dear friends, Jim and June Moore, Pauline was able to keep her own apartment until her 92nd year when she moved to live with Susan and Ray on the part of the Brownell family farm where she was born and brought up. Although change was hard for Pauline, she went through many in her life and she would state a verse from Philippians, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Her husband, Archie Swart, is deceased. Besides Sue and Ray, she leaves her sisters, Irene Greene and her husband, Arlie, of Center Berlin, and Jessie Stuart and her husband, Elmer, of Stephentown; her brothers, Paul Clark Brownell and his wife, Edna, of Cambridge, and Wesley Brownell and his wife, Helen, of West Hoosick. She was predeceased by a brother, Gordon Brownell. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. from the West Hoosick Baptist Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main St., Hoosick Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Hoosick Fire Department through the funeral home.
