Colbert, Ga. - Mrs. Pauline Dora Gabriel Johnson, 85, of 2344 Highway 29 South, Colbert, Ga. died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003 at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Ga.Mrs. Johnson was born in Oglethorpe County, Ga., January 14, 1918, daughter of the late Raleigh William and Nellie Elizabeth Tucker Gabriel. She was a homemaker and member of the Clouds Creek Baptist Church. Her husband was the late James Maryland Johnson, Sr.Survivors include a son, James M. Johnson, Jr., Danielsville, Ga.; daughters, Virginia Russell, Comer, Ga., Rachel Coker, Comer, Ga., Ann Brooks, Colbert, Ga., Linda Hunnius, Richmond, Va., Carol Allen, Colbert, Ga., Mary Costa, Danielsville, Ga.; Brothers, Edd Gabriel, Oakwood, Ga., Dwayne Gabriel, Talking Rock, Ga., Loring Gabriel, Covington, Ga.; sisters, Mary Bell Williams, Athens, Ga., Frances Roberts, Athens, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003 at the Clouds Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dayton Logan and Rev. Hoyt Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Welcome Avenue Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.The body is at the Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, Ga. where the family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday evening. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 P.M. Thursday afternoon.
