->PLYMOUTH -- Pauline H. (Fraser) Davis, 87, died peacefully following a long illness Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at her Plymouth home with her family at her side. She was born in Newport on June 12, 1919, the daughter of Walter B. and Helen (Tuttle) Fraser. She was educated in Newport schools and was a graduate of Newport High School class of 1937. Pauline married Almer N. Davis in Newport on Nov. 4, 1939. Pauline considered her primary occupation as a homemaker and she was. A farmer's wife, she and her husband, "Bub," owned and operated Davis Egg Farm in Plymouth for many years. Together they raised a family of three sons and four daughters. She was an author of several books and family histories: "Journal of a Soldiers Wife," "From Nana with Love," "Quips and Quotes," "Rebecca and John," and quite a few more. She has donated much of the profits of her books to charities and has books at the Fogler Library at the University of Maine at Orono and books in many public libraries throughout the state of Maine. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Newport. She was a former member of the Plymouth Planning Board for 17 years, and a former member of the Etna School Board. She is survived by her loving family, her husband of 67 years, Almer "Bub" Davis of Plymouth; three sons and their wives, Kent and Beth Davis of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Kevin and Sherry Davis of Plymouth, Milton and Thea Davis of Plymouth; four daughters and their husbands, Becky and Ed Landry of Plymouth, Paula and Joe Peloquin of Plymouth, Brenda and Merle Williams of Plymouth, and Melissa and Bruce Brown of Palmyra; two brothers, Byron Fraser of Hartland and Dwight Fraser of Brewer; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold Fraser and Karl Fraser. Friends may call Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at the Calvary Baptist Church, 39 Grove St., Newport, with the Rev. George Finnemore and the Rev. Steve Nute officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Riverside Cemetery in Newport. Following the committal services at the cemetery, there will be a time of remembrance and fellowship at the Calvary Baptist Church Hall.
