MADISON -- Pauline E. Daigle, 80, died on Saturday, July 16, 2005, at the Oak Grove Living & Rehabilitation Center in Waterville.ÊShe was born on May 13, 1925, in Madison, the daughter of Napoleon J. Sr. and Mary L. (Pike) Grenier.ÊPauline graduated from Madison High School in 1942. She then went on to Westbrook Junior College, graduating in 1943, and Rhode Island School of Nursing, graduating in 1946. She was employed as a nurse at Redington Hospital before working 31 years at Veneziano's and Cedar Ridge Nursing Home. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and knitting. Pauline was a communicant of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Madison, as well as a 50-year member of the Sunshine Society of Madison.Her husband, David E. Daigle; and two half sisters, Regina (Grenier) Lee and Evelyn (Grenier) Twoomey, died previously. Pauline is survived by a daughter, Donna Gibert and her husband, Bruce, of Madison; grandsons David Gilbert of Madison, and Darin Gilbert of Farmington; a sister, Patricia Fortin and her husband, Raymond, of Madison; a brother, N.J. "Paul" Grenier and his wife, Carol, of Gastonia, N.C.; sisters-in-law Rose Allain of Madison, and Phyllis Daigle of Portland; and brothers-in-law Valair Daigle and his wife, Janet, of Skowhegan, Claud Daigle of Solon, and Fletcher Daigle and his wife, Helen, of Skowhegan.A private funeral service will be held in the chapel at Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to: Madison Public Library, 12 Old Point Ave., Madison 04950.Arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison.
