Pauline (Day)Davis, Marshfield, Mo., daughter of Ralph Hollis and Sarah "Maggie" Margaret (Herd) Day, was born January 17, 1911, in Webster County, Mo., and departed this life on October 28, 2007. At the time of her passing she was 96 years, nine months and 11 days of age. On December 25, 1929, Pauline was united in marriage to Herchel Davis. Pauline was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Marshfield, Mo. In 1951, Pauline and Herschel moved to Marshfield, and purchased Marshfield Machinery with Ollie Young. She enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits and vegetables of their labor. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Herschel Davis; six brothers, Ruel Day, Ival "Buck" Day, Ralph "Red" Day Jr., Rolive Day, Don Day and Leonard Day; two sisters, Eula Chilton, Lu Davis; and three infant sisters. Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Ailene Day, Bettye Day and Ruth Day of Marshfield, Mo.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services for Pauline Davis will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, Mo., with Rev. Durwin Kicker and Rev. Jack Day officiating. Burial will be in the Marshfield Cemetery. No formal visitation is planned. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke Cemetery or a charity of the donor's choice and left with the funeral home.
