Pauline (Walthall) Anderson, 96, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2009, Easter Sunday. She was the daughter of the Rev. P.W. Walthall and Bessie (Davis) Walthall, and was born in Cayuga, Ind., on March 13, 1913. She spend most of her childhood and teen years in Texas, and graduated from Eastland High School. While living with family in Ponca City, Okla., she attended business college. In 1932, she married Ross Anderson. To this union was born one daughter, Virginia Faye. Wherever she lived she was a faithful church member. Generous and gracious, compassionate and caring, Pauline's life was a gift to all she met. She moved to Springfield, Mo., in 1995, to be near her daughter, Virginia Kincaid and family. Pauline was an active and dedicated volunteer at Springfield Senior Centers until the age of 92. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; sisters, Mary Morrison, Jesse Stewart, and Virginia Warren; and one brother Mark Walthall. She was a member of National Avenue Christian Church and CWF in Springfield. She is survived by her daughter Virginia and Charles Kincaid, Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Anne and Alton Alexander, Fernley, N.V., Rob Kincaid, Palm Springs, Calif., David and Joy Kincaid, Aurora, Mo., and seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Also surviving are a special sister-in-law Bernice Walthall, Ponca City; a number of nieces and nephews; and wonderful "adopted" granddaughters, Nancy Gose and Joy Draeger. There will be a visitation, Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Greenlawn South, Springfield, Mo. Burial will be Friday at Longwood Cemetery, Ponca, Okla.
