Montville - Paul W. Smith of Uncasville, passed away at his house, on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Paul was born on May 8, 1938, in Elmira N.Y. He served 21 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and retired as a chief warrant officer (CW03). Paul was pre-deceased by his wife, Grace. He is survived by his daughter, Roxane and son-in-law, Troy Jacobson of Norwich; son, Jason Smith of Manchester; and their mother, Eunice Smith of Quaker Hill; step-children, Gary Durkee of Maine, Edna Harley of Colchester, Aubrey Stedford and his wife, Christine, of Pawcatuck, Frank Stedford Jr. of Maine, Robert Stedford of New London, and David Stedford and his wife, Lisa, of Dayville; grandchildren, Sam Lunsford and girlfriend, Marleny, of Texas, Tiana Nadeau of Oakdale, and Jennifer Lunsford and fiancee, Chris, of Oxford, England; great-grandchildren, Jose, Celina and Jacqueline; brother, Jerry and his sister-in-law, Marina; sister, Joyce and brother-in-law, Les, of New York; and brother-in-law Dan Durkee of Uncasville. Memorial calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 11 Jerome Road, Uncasville. Military Honors will be presented at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Jordan Cemetery in Waterford.
