Paul V. Smith, 54, Palatine, Ill., passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, with his family at his side.Paul was a graduate of Seymour High School. He served in the Navy for 20 years, retiring from Puerto Rico. Paul also worked for Abbott Molecular Laboratory.Survivors include an uncle, Lawrence Smith of Callahan, Fla.; siblings, Mary Pat (Bernie) Hengesbaugh, Curtis J. (Nancy) Smith, Joan (Larry) Zink and Donna (Mark) Longbrake; nieces and nephews, Jacqueline (Mark) Macenas, Brian (Mary-Louise) Hengesbaugh, Emory Zink, Essica Zink, Curtis Longbrake and Victoria Smith; and great-nephews, Jordan Morgan and Ben Hengesbaugh.He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis A. and Dorothy E. Smith.Funeral prayers will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday at Williams-Kampp Funeral, 430 E. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, Ill. Mass will be at 10 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Church, 480 S. Park Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. Inurnment will be at Assumption Cemetery.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 119 N.
