Obituary of Paul Simmons


Paul Simmons HARTSVILLE, SC-- Funeral services for Paul Reese Simmons, 78, will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Fran Elrod will officiate with burial in Westview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Mr. Simmons died Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Born in Sandyville, WV, he was a son of the late Rev. Fred G. and Lenora Jordan Simmons. He was a graduate of the University of West Virginia and was retired from IMC after 53 years of service. He was a loving husband and father. A man of few words with lots of action. He was also a jack of all trades and was always there to lend a helping hand. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Sandra Bounds Simmons of Hartsville, SC; daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Simmons and Karen Simmons, both of Hartsville, SC; brother, Floyd (Irene) Simmons of Newport, OH. He is preceded in death by his brother, Carl Simmons; sisters, Helen Watters and Alice Rollins. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church, 145 E.
