Paul R. Davis June 13, 2011 Paul R. Davis, 70, passed away peacefully at his home in Baldwinsville on June 13, 2011. He was born on January 21, 1941, in Syracuse, New York, the son of Frederick P. and Viola L. Davis. Paul was a graduate of Nottingham High School and served as a computer specialist in the U.S. Army Personnel Information Systems Command. Following his tour of service with the Army, he lived in the Washington, D.C., area where he had an illustrious career as a systems programmer working in the Pentagon. Throughout his work, he received numerous commendations for his innovation, dedication and resolve in getting the job done accurately and on time. Upon his retirement in 1996, he returned to Syracuse, settling in the Baldwinsville area. Paul was a quiet, caring person. His passions in life were his religion, trains and historic cinema. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Baldwinsville and spent much of his time strengthening his faith with Bible study. An avid train buff, he spent his leisure time on train trips, attending train shows and his collection of train books and artifacts throughout his life. Paul was a regular attendee at cinema fests and maintained a library of movies from all eras in pursuit of his love for the history of the cinema. Paul was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Frederick P. "Sonny" Davis. He is survived by his brothers, Neil F. (Mary) Davis of Liverpool, Richard T. (Lorraine) David of Strasburg, VA, and Terrence M. (Anne) Davis of Salamanca, NY; eight nieces and nephews; and six grandnieces and -nephews.
