ObituaryPaul Hamilton, 80, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Indianapolis, went to be with his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, on December 22, 2008. He was born January 23, 1928 to Rev. Clarence Dudley and Grace Maude McCullough of Shelbyville, IN.Paul was a graduate of Greensburg High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Corporal during the Korean War. He trained as a Medical Technician in San Antonio, Texas at Brooke Army Hospital. He was assigned to the 28th General Hospital Unit stationed at Camp Croix Chapeau near the town of LaRochelle. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years, where he was a mail carrier and supervisor, retiring in 1988. Paul was blessed with many musical abilities. He enjoyed singing, playing trumpet, guitar and piano. He used his talents for the Lord as a song evangelist in the Pilgrim Holiness Church and other churches across the nation. Paul was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.Visitation will be Sunday, December 28, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Rd. Funeral services will be Monday, December 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Shirley Brothers Mortuary. Daniel Hamilton; daughter, Shelly Hamilton; brother, Max. D. (Vernita) Hamilton; and sisters, Mildred M. and Violet Mae Hamilton. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Clarence M. Hamilton.
