Mitchell, Paul H. RENSSELAER Paul H. Mitchell, of Rensselaer, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010 after a short illness. He was born in Stamford, Conn. and lived there for 45 years before moving to this area. Paul was an Air Force veteran of World War II and entered the insurance business after an honorable discharge from the service. He retired in 1982 as Troy's district manager for John Hancock Life Insurance Co. after 37 years with the company. He received his charted life underwriter designation in 1948 and also served as president of the Northeastern Life Underwriter's Association. Paul was an avid sports fan and especially loved following the NY Yankees. He participated in golf, skiing and bowling leagues. He also enjoyed traveling and sightseeing both throughout the USA and overseas. He dearly loved his family and was a true Patriot his whole life. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Elizabeth "Bette" (Oliver) Mitchell; his daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Ralph Cardone of Niantic, Conn.; his son and daughter-in-law, William and Christine Mitchell of Malta, N.Y.; grandsons, Jonathan and Jason Car-done, Justin, Travis, and Zachary Mitchell; his great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Cooper, Brady and Victoria Cardone. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service 12:00 on Friday from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer, N.Y. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 11-12 immediately prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville at 2 o'clock.
