Obituary of Paul-Buford-Bridges III


Paul Buford Bridges III, 66 BIDDEFORD -- Paul Buford Bridges III, 66, formerly of Portland, passed away a brief illness on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, in Biddeford. He was born in Portland on April 15, 1944, the son of Paul Buford Jr. and Arlene Emily Freeman Bridges. Paul was a very loving, affectionate and sweet person. He had many friends and always enjoyed receiving company. In his younger days, when his father was in the Navy, the family had lived in Maine, Massachusetts and Georgia. Paul loved to travel and looked forward very much his trips to Disney World in Florida as well as his travels to other states and Canada with his sister and brother-in-law. He was predeceased by his mother who passed away in 1992, and his father who passed away in 1995. He was also predeceased by his loving and devoted sister, Penelope (Penny) A. Bridges-Shaw who passed away April 17, 2009. She and her husband Rick loving cared for her brother Paul for many years after the passing of her parents. Paul is survived by his brother-in-law, Richard N. Shaw; an aunt, Anna J. Freeman, both of Portland; many cousins in Maine, Florida, Georgia and Utah; and many friends. A memorial service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family at the Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements are under the care of Blais & Hay Funeral Home , Westbrook.
