->Smith, Paul A.Paul A. Smith, 78, of Dobbs Ferry died November 5, 2011. Born in Cornwall, NY, Paul has lived in Dobbs Ferry since his late teenage years. As a young man he endured many family hardships and persevered as a young man who served in the US Air Force and went on to have a full career in sales with S.C. Johnson and Son. On February 2, 1957 he married the love of his life Marianna Vano in Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Together they raised their family in Dobbs Ferry. Paul often gave up his own plans to make sure his children could get to their sporting events and other activities. He enjoyed watching his children and later his grandchildren participate in sporting events. As a young man he enjoyed skiing, golfing and later in life playing Bocce with family members at Dobbs Acres, a family summer residence in the Catskills and also enjoyed photography and reading.Paul was a long time member of the Dobbs Ferry Embassy Club and American Legion Post 1048. Surviving along with his loving wife are his children Suzanne (Cristina), Michael (Lauren) and Paul (Lisa), his grandchildren Taylor, Brandon, Kelsey and Allison, his siblings James Bender, Jerry Bender, Gayle Yender and Barbara McClenghan.Mass of the Resurrection Wednesday 9:30AM Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 95 Palisade St., Dobbs Ferry.
