Paul Arlie Martin, 82, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008.He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals, a World War II veteran with the U.S. Navy Seabees and a member of the VFW.The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Saturday at Spry Serenity Chapel, Florence. Brother Larry Smart officiated. Interment followed at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.Nephews served as pallbearers.He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Sula Martin, and his brother, Sambo Martin.He is survived by his wife, Sue Martin, of Tuscumbia; sons, Paul M. Martin, of Huntsville, and Steve D. Martin, of Decatur; daughters, Debbie Bradford, of Trinity, and Dianne Foust, of Tuscumbia; brothers, Lester Martin, of Florence, Rayford Martin, of Trinity; sisters, Betty Doris Barnett, of Elgin, Annette Shoopman, of Kuwait, Faye Hopper, of Decatur; grandchildren, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Joanie, Amy, Meghan, Brandon and Bevin; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Spry Serenity Chapel, of Florence, directed.
