Obituary of Patrick-V. Gibbons


Patrick V. Gibbons, 79, of Caldwell, N.J., died on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Dancy Funeral Home, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell. A Mass will be held on Monday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Gibbons moved to Caldwell in 1966. An attorney, he was employed by American Home Products (now Pfizer) in New York City before retiring. Mr. Gibbons graduated magna cum laude from St. John's University (Men's College), and earned his law degree from St. John's School of Law and his LL.M. from New York University, all of New York City. He was a former member of the Caldwell/West Caldwell Board of Education. Mr. Gibbons was a retired major in the Air Force, having served during peacetime. Surviving are his beloved wife of 52 years, Irene (nee Stiene); devoted daughters and their husbands, Carol and Geoff Dunham, and Cathy and Tom Mostek; dear sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Eugene Andreassi, and sister, Patricia Gibbons, R.S.M., and cherished grandchildren, Livy, Paul, Brendan, Gregory and Sebastian. If so desired, donations to the Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, 357 Clermont Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y. 11238, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
