Patrick R. Manning, age 37, of Philadelphia departed this life on Monday, March 31, 2008. He was born in Buford to Jerry and Neldon Manning. Patrick, affectionately known as "Pac-Man," was educated in the Philadelphia public school system. He was known throughout the city. He had the biggest heart in the world. He loved kids. He would always take the time to talk to the neighborhood kids, sending them to summer camps or getting them into some type of program to keep them off the streets. He was always willing to help those in need. Pat became a Muslim early in his young life. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Neldon Manning of Philadelphia, Pa.; his father, Jerry Manning of Buford; one sister, Veronica Manning of Philadelphia, Pa; one son, Jihaad Manning of Philadelphia, Pa.; four rental children, Schaneen Jacksonian, Donald Stevenson, Amatullah Mason and Bilal Mason, all of Philadelphia, Pa.; five rental grandchildren, all of Philadelphia, Pa.; four aunts, Vernita Andrews, Juanita Young, Rubye Stringer and Margie Strickland, all of Georgia; three uncles, Lamar Stringer, Eugene Manning of Georgia and Joe Manning of California; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Memorial Park South Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Bishop George Jenkins. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 8, 2008, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
