Patrick Michael "Meatball" Age 52, of 237 West Second Street, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 17, 2007, at his home. He was born April 5, 1954 in Corning, NY, the son of Roderick L. and Rita McCarthy McCaffery. A lifetime resident of Corning, NY graduating from St. Vincent de Paul & St. Mary's Catholic Schools and Corning Painted Post East High School. Pat was employed as a Tradesman (Millwright) for Corning Inc. and was a member of the Steel Workers Union. He was a member of All Saints Parish and Race Services Inc. Once you met "Meatball" you would never forget him. His generosity was unlimited when it came to his family and friends. Pat loved woodworking, cooking and helping others. His biggest love was spending time with his extended family and volunteering as a course marshall at WGI. He will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his mother, Rita McCaffery of Corning, NY; sisters, Colleen (Henry) Mapes of Campbell, NY, Mary Kay (Dominick) Lisi of Corning, NY, Kathleen McCaffery and Terry Nichols of Rochester, NY, Kelly McCaffery and Bill Sherman of Corning, NY and Maureen (David) Alford of Coopers Plains, NY; nieces, Colleen Lisi, Samantha Payne, Victoria Mapes; nephews, Ryan (Sarah) Payne, Joshua (Tiffany Torden) Payne and Dominick Lisi; great-nephew, Brayden Payne; aunts and uncles, Grace and Frank Wilson, Maureen McCarthy, Johanna McCarthy and Rodney and Virginia Spring; also several cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Roderick M. McCaffery; and niece, Andrea Payne. Friends may call at the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St., Corning, NY 14830, Tuesday, March 20, 2007, from 4-8 p.m. A Prayer Service will be offered at the funeral home Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Mary's Church 9:30 a.m. Committal Prayers and Interment will be held at the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery.
