Brennan, Patrick J., 62, of Boca Raton, died February 7, 2011. He was born September 29, 1948, in Detroit, MI, and came to South Florida with his wife 30 years ago. He served in the Army Airborne Infantry from 1969 to 1971. His tour in Vietnam resulted in the award of The Bronze Star for heroism, for actions he took on October 2, 1969 saving many lives. He started his culinary career in 1973 at the Coonamessett Inn, Cape Cod, MA. Moved up quickly to the rank of Sous Chef, with natural skills and a thirst for books he contiuned on and soon after took an Executive Chef position at The Old Club, Harsens Island, MI. He worked many clubs, hotels, and fine dining establishments in the Dearborn area until moving south. His club experience continued at Boca West, Palm-Aire, Boca-Aire, and Delray Beach Club until 1987 when he leased his first restaurant, Orchids, in Pompano Beach. Three years later, with opportunity, he released his larger and second restaurant and lounge at the Beachcomber Resort and Villas, Pompano Beach. Brennans in the Beachcomber thrived and he continued until 2001, then moved on to caregiving for his family. He retired in 2010 from Eurest Corporation and is missed by all. Survivors include his wife Ann, mother Mary E. Brennan, five sisters, two brothers, mother-in-law Lavina Hibbs, 11 brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law and 20 nieces and nephews. The liturgy will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 19, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Boca Raton, FL.
