YATES, Patricia Dinning (nee George) Patricia passed away on February 13, 2010 after saying goodbye to family and friends at the end of a courageous battle with cancer. Following her wishes, she was cremated and her ashes will be laid to rest with those of her husband, Arthur Yates, and her parents Edmund (Ted) and Annabelle George (nee Noble) in Bentley, Alberta. The chosen location overlooks the Blind Man River Valley and four ranges of hills, the most distant being called the Last West. Patricia's career was as a teacher and later administrator in Edmonton, and she was beloved by several generations of grade ones and their parents. She was known to buy winter coats and boots for those without, and solved many problems for her little students and their families. She is also mourned by her many friends, neighbors and colleagues. Thanks to Dr. Chichak for his care of the family over many years and Dr. Mirhosseini and the staff of Emergency and 7 East at the Misericordia Hospital for bringing comfort to Patricia during her last days. For those who wish, donations can be made to the charity of their choice. A Celebration of Life will be held at Westmount Presbyterian Church, 13820 - 109 A Avenue in Edmonton on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Annabelle Wallace officiating.
