SPRINGFIELD - Patricia W. Davis 80, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at Springfield Hospital. She was born Nov. 2, 1933, in Burlington, the daughter of George F. and Beatrice ( Henry ) Whitcomb. She attended schools in Bristol, and graduated from Bristol High School in 1951, She later graduated from the University of Vermont dental hygiene program in 1953. On Aug. 1, 1959, she married James B. Davis in Bristol. He predeceased her on May 6, 1984. She worked as a dental hygienist for many years. After retirement, she worked for several years as a tour guide at the Calvin Coolidge Homestead in Plymouth. Mrs. Davis was a Girl Scout leader and held positions within the state organization of Girl Scouts of America. Mrs. Davis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Springfield for many years, and volunteered at various events for the church and the Springfield community. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling to Maine and the beach. Mrs. Davis was a lifelong Red Sox fan. She is survived by one son, Michael J. Davis of Burlington; two daughters: Joanna Clarke-Pounder and Barbara Hall, both of Hudson, N.H.; two granddaughters; one brother, George J. Whitcomb of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and her longtime companion, Ed Huber. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Springfield. The Rev. Peter Williams, pastor, will officiate.
