GERBRANDT, Patricia 'Pat' - Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Stedman Community Hospice, on Saturday August 10, 2007, in her 74th year. Beloved wife of Bill, loved mother to Tim (Nada) of Sarnia, cherished grandmother to Peter (Kristine) and Jessica, and great grandmother to Lindsay; dear sister to Terry Taylor (Eleanor). In 1956, Pat began a 42 year career as an intake worker at the Children's Aid Society of Brant, she a was a respectful, compassionate worker who made use of gentle humour in her worker. Pat was a strong advocate for children in our community and was dedicated to improving the lives of children and their families. Simultaneously, Pat worked for the Office of the Children's Lawyer for several years, writing assessments for the courts. She sat on the board of directors for Nova Vita Women's Shelter while still finding time to be with her family and friends. Pat was very involved in the antique business along side Bill for many years. One of her favourite sayings was 'If not for the grace of God, there go you and I', remembering this helped her to be less judgmental in her work with families. Cremation has taken place, a memorial gathering will be held at WM. KIPP FUNERAL HOME, 184 Grand River St. N. Paris on Tuesday 6-9 PM.
