Obituary of Patricia Stephens


WHITELAW, Patricia (née Stephens) - The family announces with sorrow, her death in Sudbury, Monday, March 16, 2009 at the age of 72 years. Daughter of the late Wilmer and of the late Sarah (née Brodie) Stephens. Wife of the late Charles Whitelaw predeceased in 2005. Loving mother of Brodie Whitelaw (Kendra) of Deep River. Dear sister of Faye Wilson (Bill) of Cornwall and Garnet Stephens of Vankleek Hill. Predeceased by her brother Samuel Stephens. Sadly missed by her grandchild Brandt Whitelaw. Lovingly remembered by her friends in Valley East, also in her home- town of Vankleek Hill and at Sudbury York Extendicare. Patricia was raised in Vankleek Hill in the Ottawa Valley on her family's horse farm. Married in 1967 to Charles, they spent two years in Alberta, before settling in Sudbury in 1969. She was previously a member and choir-singer at St. James United Church in Val Therese. She was a dedicated wife and wore her “Hockey Mom” pin with pride. Her kind spirit and dedication to family will always be remembered. The family will receive relatives and friends for a burial service to be held Friday, March 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Valley East Cemetery, Hanmer, ON. Donations (by cheque only) to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the CO- OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury. 11445828
