RYAN--Patricia, Single Stop USA mourns the loss of its friend and champion Patricia Ryan. Pat will be remembered for her groundbreaking career as an editor at Time, Inc. She should equally be remembered for her generosity, compassion, risk-taking and quiet charity, fueled by her belief that the world should be more just. Pat, and her husband Ray Cave, were our first private supporters, allowing us to hire our first full-time staff and remain afloat as we waited for institutional support. Because of her belief in us, we have been able to help nearly one million poor families in seven years. Her championing of children and families extended to her work at Abraham House and her individual support of countless youth. We extend our condolences to Ray and her entire family. The world seems a little less bright today, but our hope for a better world remains with the knowledge that Pat's work lives on.
