Sister Patricia Maureen Brennan, 89, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, N.J. The wake for Sister Patricia Maureen will be held in Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. Burial will be on Friday, March 15, 2013 in Holy Family Cemetery, Convent Station, at 10 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of S. J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service. For more information please visit their website: www.parsippanyfuneral.com Sister Patricia Maureen was born in Jersey City, N.J., the daughter of Patrick and Marcella (Blake) Brennan. She entered the Sisters of Charity on Sept. 8, 1940, and was a member for 72 years. She graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, with a B.S. degree in elementary education. Sister Patricia Maureen was an educator in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher in St. Nicholas School, Passaic; St. Matthew School, Ridgefield; Sacred Heart Elementary School, Jersey City; Star of the Sea Academy, Long Branch; Our Lady of Victories School, Jersey City; St. Patrick School, Jersey City; St. Paul of the Cross School, Jersey City; Our Lady of Grace School, Hoboken; Holy Trinity Elementary School, Fort Lee; and Corpus Christi School, Hasbrouck Heights. She also served as a volunteer in Corpus Christi School; Mother Seton Residence, Montclair; St. Joseph School, Jersey City, and the Caritas Community, Jersey City. She retired to Saint Anne Villa, Convent Station, in 2004 and resided there until her death. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Edward Zentar, Leonardo, N.J., and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to the Sisters of Charity Development Fund, P.O. Box 476, Convent Station, N.J. 07961-0476.
